Wyatt Mchale Hops On The Mini-Twin Bandwagon

And aren’t we glad he did.

Without a doubt, little twin fins have been one of the hottest trends of the past 12 months.

The surfing that Josh Kerr and Asher Pacey do on their 5’2-and-under Albums has changed the way people look at surfing tiny boards. Nineteen-year-old Wyatt McHale has hopped on the bandwagon, and aren’t we glad he did.

We knew Wyatt had a refined palate for alternative outlines when we stuck him and Jet Schilling on our beet-red Owl Chapman’s and sent them out at Pipe. What we didn’t know is that Wyatt can shape, producing a 5’5 tucked twin that looks incredibly good underfoot. Seeing as Wyatt looks to be at least 6’2, the amount of drive he gets out of the board is impressive.

And isn’t there something about tall humans doing big carves? Wyatt’s got the height, and at a young age could easily hit a growth spurt and pack on another 30-40 pounds which would make him downright lethal. If he does, and that 5’5 goes up for grabs, anybody got dibs?

Watch Wyatt Mchale’s and Kalani Minihan’s ‘Homemade’ above.
