What’s Kelly’s Opinion On Claiming?

The answer to this and more of life’s most pressing questions on #TourNotes’ J-Bay wrap-up.

Jeffreys Bay is a lovely place, but it’s especially lovely in July when the surf is reeling and every day you wake up and realise the lines wrapping around the point look better than they did the day before. That’s the predicament World Tour surfers found themselves in for the past two weeks. Jealous much? And guess what comes with good waves? That’s right, surfers claiming more waves than God intended to be claimed between creation and the inevitable heat death of the universe.

On the newest #TourNotes, Kelly discusses his stance on claiming (spoiler alert, he’s about them), Filipe critiques his own claims, Wilko claims shark spotting duties, and Seabass claims Filipe should have just gone for floaters instead of airs. Also, something is not right with the world: John John chooses to take an ice bath instead of surfing perfect J-Bay. Or at least when asked by Michel Bourez if he wants to join in on a morning session.
