Watch: “The Best Swell Ever To Hit Sunshine Beach”
Featuring Harry Bryant, Harrison Roach, Dean Brady and more.
You know all about this swell. It’s the east coast low that tore the swimming pools from the back yards of houses at South Narrabeen and also provided the severe lumps that greeted competitors of the Red Bull Cape Fear event at Ours. It was a monumental, dare we say, “swell event”.
Spoiler: the best part of “the SHINE” comes at the 7:30 mark when a paddleboarder named Chicken mad dogs his way into a bomb and gets properly pitted. The 12 minute reel from Runamuk Visuals recounts “the best swell to ever hit Sunshine Beach,” and given the amount of slick land and drone footage, we’re apt to agree. Narrated by Dean Brady and Harry Bryant, they weave a good story throughout and along with Harrison Roach, Izak Clifford, Shaun Stevik, ‘Chicken’ and pals, take turns scooping into groomed sand-bottom perfection. A pleasant way to relive a north swell that’ll go down in Australian history.
