This Is The Best Ten Minute Advertorial You’ll See Today
Watch: “Professional Tourists” featuring Chippa Wilson and Nathan Fletcher in the Caribbean for Nixon.
You might be questioning why we deemed it necessary to take your attention away from work emails, family or miscellaneous procrastination for a what is basically a ten minute advertorial for a digital wrist watch.
Well, there’s a handful of reasons actually. Here’s our top five:
Chippa Wilson. Because we’ll throw it all on the line and hand him the title of most exciting and productive free surfer on the planet. Everything we see from Chip drips in style; variation and tech tricks that usually involve a few rewinds and pauses to adequately diagnose – and that two-plus-one he so often rides, delicious.
Nathan Fletcher. The man is a fucking powerhouse. Plus, his musings on the distinctions between the traveller and the tourist are kinda profound.
Panama. There’s jungle, wedge, slabs and townspeople wearing giant contagious smiles – it’s a photogenic playground!
Production value. Track selection is make or break in the edit world. Good taste goes a long way and there’s a cache of bangers worthy of adding to your personal rotation.
Also, talent narration is a bold angle to run, but Chip and Nate pull it off with minimal cheese value. None of this “there once was a man who became unstuck” drum circle nonsense.
It’s an ad for a tide watch. And yet we love it. Nixon’s Base Tide Pro, actually looks like a neat time keeper, comes complete with all the digital bells and whistles you could require in a groovy looking lightweight body.
If you’re hunting something for the wrist you can find out more about it here, but in the meantime if you haven’t already hit the triangle, dime the volume and let it rip.
