Watch: Bristol’s New Wave Tub As Surfed By The UK’s Finest
“Put it this way, if I lived next door to this place, I would surf here everyday and maybe I would never go back in the ocean. The waves are that good.” – Reubyn Ash
You saw the riderless lines, now let’s examine the true surfability of Wavegarden’s new Cove technology at one of their two recently opened sites—Bristol, England’s ‘The Wave.’

Our initial reaction: the wave is about the size we expected (chest-high) and of a similar length and quality to Waco’s Perfect Swell tech.
In other words, it looks fun as hell but doesn’t appear “game-changing.”
Here’s what the UK’s premiere surfer, Reubyn Ash, had to say about the experience: “Put it this way, if I lived next door to this place, I would surf here every day and maybe I would never go back in the ocean. The waves are that good.”
I think Mr. Ash might have sniffed a bit of chlorine before making that ocean statement, but the point of his message is clear: this pool fuckin’ rips.
The Wave is open for business tomorrow. Will you be lucky enough to attend?
