Two’s Company, Several Thousand Is A Crowd On Australia’s Gold Coast
A local lensman’s showreel reveals the unfortunate truth of surfing in Coolangatta.
Killer waves, but for 95% of us, they’re hardly worth the hassle.
That’s because Australia’s Gold Coast, and particularly its southernmost points (plus that little technically-NSW beachie around the corner), retains the world’s most crowded lineups year after year.
And it makes sense—the Goldy’s got a temperate climate, ample commerce, and world-class banks right out the front. Also, when the waves aren’t great, Cooly boasts a bountiful night scene and some crazy attractive (if generall crazy) humans.
But fuck, man, those lineupes are brutal. Check out local capture king Jesse Little’s 2019 showreel for proof.
