There’s Always Time For Namibian POV
Skeleton Bay, Mavericks, Nazare; Mason Barnes has been clocking those frequent flyers.
Young Mason Barnes got a little heavy handed on the time stretching in this clip (at times!).
We won’t hold this against him however, the guy can really thread a sandy Namibian drainer. And judging by the second half of his DIY winter edit (tastefully soundtracked), the dude’s got a set of coyoles.
The question may have arisen, ‘who the heck is Mason Barnes?’ Here’s how his slick website bio reads:
Mason Hyce Barnes is a professional big wave surfer from Wilmington, North Carolina. He currently resides in Venice, California.
Mason received multiple Big Wave Award entries including biggest wipeout in 2016 and already received two entries for Biggest Paddle-in 2017.
Mason is currently competing on the World Surf League Qualifying Series and training for the Big Wave World Tour events.
In the future, Mason would like to qualify for the 2017 Big Wave World Tour and become the best big wave surfer in the world.
Come take ride with the boy in the African tube and involuntarily struggle for air as he descends the slopes of Nazare and Mavericks – mostly unsuccessfully!
