The Clips Keep Coming From Europe’s Rage-Inducing Autumn
Did Sam Piter thrift that suit from Kolohe’s garage?
We’ve documented both France’s first and second surf lockdowns quite thoroughly.
Seeing as Stab compatriot/French expat Brendan Buckley’s overall emotional and psychological well-being is predicated upon access to surf, it has been a topic we’ve become versed in. With that, there was a time where only those for which surfing was considered ‘essential’ to their livelihood were able to surf (ie. pros/instructors). While B.D.P.S hasn’t fallen under the ‘pro’ category in many years, thankfully Sam Piter has.
With Europe firing over much of the summer and fall, we understand it would be next to impossible to sit on the beach and simply watch. The 17-year-old Landes native’s surfing is stylish (and golly does he know how to pack a pit), but really, cutting off access to surfing to an up-and-comer such as Sam during such a pivotal developmental stage would be, for lack of a better word, fucked.
I’m all here for Public Health maintenance and obeying COVID protocols. Seeing as most of the clips in the above edit are in waves that scare off most crowds on their own, we can say with a fair amount of certainty Sam was both distanced and safely practicing his essential activities. God am I jealous.
Click in above to watch Sam Piter’s ‘Made In Landes’ and forgive him in advance for the claim 2:46. Deep down, you know you’d be doing the same.
