Haydenshapes have just announced the release of the ‘weird series’ by Dylan Graves via late-night infomercial – a surf all, surf anything HP featuring steampunk sci-fi graphics (courtesy of Max Loffler) designed for everyday weird and wonderful conditions. 

“It’s the model I’ve been working with Hayden for the past six years,” The Pickup Vans US Open host DG explains. “It’s modeled off the Untitled but tailored to smaller waves i.e. they’ve pushed the wide point forward and softened the rocker slightly. I wanted to create a groveller that worked in proper waves as well as all the weird waves I’d been surfing in Namibia, Nigeria, Alaska and so on.”

“It’s a small wave board with good wave benefits. It’s got a double concave, which I really like, into a single with a bump swallow tail. It’s not like we just dreamed this up and announced a new model. It’s basically the same shape I’ve been riding forever really, with a little twist.”

“The graphics are done by a friend of mine, Max Loffler, who did all the graphics on Weird Waves. I’m a sci-fi nerd and I wanted to bring that vibe to my boards. I’m really pumped on that actually. I think it adds character and this is my first signature board so it’s a pretty cool moment.”

The range also includes a softboard model featuring an EPS stringered core, epoxy lamination and EVA foam wrapping which doesn’t need waxing. Perfect for getting slotted on shorebreaks, party wave theatrics, Pirate day at Lowers, beaches with flags, groms etc.
