Surfing Doesn’t Always Have To Be So Hard
Watch: Flaccid Earth with Joel Paxton in Europe.
Outside of surfing, 11x World Champion Kelly Slater’s hobbies include golf and engaging in online arguments with strangers regarding the shape of planet earth.
Kelly posits that it is not flat, a bold stance that the past thousand or two years of science seems to favor. However, an important question looms: Is it flaccid?
This short film seeks to answer that.
Shot in the Basque Country of Spain and France a few months ago, Flaccid Earth features a dystopian take on soft-topping with Joel Paxton. Joel, who rides for Quik, was in town to surf around the Quik Pro France. While the majority of his trip was spent enjoying wine and packing closeouts, Joel also found a few days of sub-par surf to reach peak limpness.
The result, maybe, is a reminder that surfing doesn’t always have to be so hard.
