Stab Presents: No time for island time

We’re not too sure what island time really means, at least when the contest’s in town. As far as we’re concerned it’s a high action free-for-all. Occupancy on the North Shore’s been full of dramatics, waves and waiting for the Pipe Masters to resume. It did, and we saw everything from massive, gnarly Pipe conditions turned perfect to meager conditions that groomed a new world champ. The three lay days leading up to the big event may have been too small for contestable waves at the North Shore’s most notorious underpass, but Rockies and Off the Wall saw moments of glimmering light. On Wednesday any so-called Pipe-charger was foaming at the lips, waiting for a chance to snag a piece of what they’ve been so patiently watching and waiting for. With the final bell they packed the lineup like hyenas on a bleeding ox, and only the alphas of the pack got their fix. Here’s our collection of great dance songs over the past week on the rock.
