This whole wavepool thing is really something. 

For the average (adult) punter, pools offers pay-to-play fun with the off-chance of improvement. With work and kids at the center of their lives, these folks can schedule an hour of guaranteed enjoyment and look forward to it throughout the week.  

For kids, however, the pool is a Mariokart Super Star for advancement. Those with the means to visit (and visit regularly) are guaranteed a Nate-Florence-sized leg-up in the aerial department, which will be pivotal for their career advancement. 

Two kids that spring to mind are Jackson Dorian and Sierra Kerr, who as the children of former CT surfers, already have a genetic and nepotistic advantage. But getting to visit the pool on a highly regular basis has allowed their aerial surfing to improve exponentially.

It’s incredible to see, but how will anyone without access to these facilities compete?
