Mikey February just released the trailer for Sonic Souvenirs, a new short series with Vans. The episodes will explore art, music, and surfing with the fine South African gent, trailing our protagonist while he journeys up and down the coast of his homeland.

Growing up in South Africa, Mikey’s style results from a harmonious blend of his natural environment.

With the help of legendary filmmaker Kai Neville, Mikey February sheds light on the diversity within the region and how it influences the people, music, and overall culture. He visits his childhood home of Cape Town and the smaller villages in the surrounding area.

Episode one of Sonic Souvenirs is set to original music by South African musician Madala Kunene and friends. Mikey recalls how music became a driving force for him at a young age. He also addresses the joys and pressures of growing up so close to South Africa’s East Cape, one of surfing’s most renowned destinations.

The first episode of Sonic Souvenirs premieres globally on April 13 on Vans’ YouTube channel. Stay tuned for more information at Vans.com/Surf.
