Seven Different Ways To Ride A Wave With Harrison Roach
Two minutes featuring the full spectrum of surfing’s rainbow in Indonesia.
Feeds dosed up on jersey-wearing high performance from South Africa? Please allow multi-shape specialist and winner of the the Deus 9ft And Single event; Harrison Roach, to present you with a flavour from the other side of town in this short edit. It’s a quiver showcase of sorts, demonstrated in perfect Indonesian waves. You may have discovered yourself that riding a finless is a little challenging (without looking like a fumbling rookie anyway), it’s a whole different ball game, as is scooping a single or bonzer into a freight training Indonesian drainer. Harrison makes it look a breeze.
The footage is cut straight out of Dustin Humphrey’s latest film South To Sian, (the trailer of which has been circling around on the inter-webs of late, added below for contextual convenience) which documents the two-year-long travels of Harrison and pal Zye Norris across 4000 kilometres of Indonesian soil and salt. The pair set off to pioneer their own surf journey, with an old Land Rover, two dirt bikes, a $50 tent and a ridiculous amount of variously-shaped surfcraft. You’re going to want to allocate some free time on July 15th when the full feature is released through Garage Entertainment.
