Nate Leal’s Beach Reel Is A Site To Behold
Volcom’s in-house filmer brings you a decade of A-clips.
The life of an in-house filmer is not for everyone. Last-minute strike missions and long stints away from home on a fraction of the salary of their subjects are stated clearly on the signup sheet. These stipulations mean that those with the skill set and capacity to take on the task are often in pursuit of much more than money. Mostly, their passions are fueled by the immense natural beauty that characterizes their travels, and a life outside of the cubicle ain’t so bad either.
In this category, few perform at the level of Nate Leal.
Longtime Volcom team filmer and Stab collaborator on projects such as The Dock 2.0, Mr. Leal’s last 10 years have been spent pointing the camera at some of surfing’s most interesting characters. Pulling footage from Indonesia, Hawaii, Mexico, Europe, and THAT Peru session with Ryan Burch, Ozzy Wright, and Nate Tyler, this is reel is a smattering of some of the best clips from the best surfers captured by their talented and committed lensman. Click in for a few minutes of beautifully captured surfing and make sure to stick around for the Balaram oop at 4:08.
