Mason Ho, Tom Curren, A Disc And A Typhoon

We’ll be straight up and tell you that the waves within aren’t going to have you rushing off to buy a plane ticket. In this episode there’s no mysto boat trip poking around the forgotten corners of the Pacific Ocean, no crystal cylinders to etch into your mind.

But that’s not why you’re here are you? You knew that if Rip Curl could get Mason Ho and Tom Curren together in front of a camera then the magic would come organically. And that’s exactly what happened.

They had surfing’s most enigmatic and face of the iconic #thesearch series, riding a Frankenstein-looking craft, and Mason Ho – everyone’s favourite surf mascot – going tit for tat somewhere in Asia. 

Favourite moments include; Mason’s blind confidence on a skateboard and his killer backhand attack on a lengthy craft, Tom’s juxtaposing stone-cold demeanour (particularly during the final hug scene), his disc skills and Mason’s post traditional asian bath quote: 

“That was a humbling experience, we all got naked.”
