The Sunset session at the beginning of this clip is the kind of surf that would be a nightmare for nearly all of us. It’s raw, powerful, unruly Sunset, and, it’s big, grey and crowded. Most of the waves coming through pinch and to the mere mortal it looks like heaps of paddling and waves on the head. But, somehow, just like he always does, Mason Ho makes it look fun. And then, as a digestif, we get the raw footage of Mason’s first trip to Teahupoo. You’ve seen the makes, but here’s the gritty spills. And jeez, there’s some beauties! God bless this resilient little Hawaiian man, may his jovial spirit live forever!
