The pubescent jump from short to lanky sure can be a tough phase in a teen’s life, co-ordination during physical activity becoming temporarily harder while the body adjusts to its new lengths. But not for Beau Foster. Kid suits being lanky in the same way Craig Anderson and Owen Wright do. In a complimentary way, in a way that makes their surfing languid, effortless, damn good to watch. Case in point, this clip, shot by Beau’s brother Nathan, around their home on the Central Coast and during a trip to Bali in July.

During the Bali stint, photog Matty O’Brien was staying with the bros. With a freshly-replaced hip, Matty was a little fragile. The gang stayed a little outta Kuta, and would ride into town every day/night to eat. One evening, Nathan was riding behind Beau, who was (very carefully) doubling Matt. Suddenly, Beau started swerving wildly, weaving through Bali’s less-than-civil traffic – Nathan was spooked ’cause of Matt’s condition, and when Nathan finally caught up he asked, “Dude, what was that? You’re outta hand on these bikes!” Beau explained that he’d freaked out and gunned the pushy when a “creepy” guy had run out and tried to grab Matt and Beau. Though Matt’s a handsome man, our guess is that Beau’s dreamy golden locks were mistaken for that of a gal’s and caught some unwanted attention. One can only imagine the nasty shock that might’ve awaited the would-be kidnapper, had he succeeded in stealing young Beau away to his lair.
