Kepa Acero’s First Dance Back
A heady little number from the Basque native’s first surfs after injury
It was only a matter of time before the Basque wanderer Kepa Acero was back on the road, dropping poetic little dispatches from his travels around the world. After breaking his neck at Mundaka, Kepa’s been on a slow, but rewarding road to recovery. When we saw him last, he was chasing his dog around Zarautz, getting a few waves but certainly still cautious. In this beautiful little clip, scored to “The Crime of Stupidity” by Eduardo Galeano, Kepa looks loose and liberated, surfing a beautiful little twin fin as well as, it looks like, a PUKAS “Plan-B,” one of the cutest little Swiss army knives, a one-board quiver for Kepa’s deep African jaunts.
