Kaimana Henry is housekeeper of the (Gerry Lopez-owned) Volcom House on the north shore, and joins the roster of Hawaiian surfers on Team Veeco. Kaimana is the lovely gent who owns the first five minutes of surfing in this edit. He also claims to know nothing about filming or editing, which he may be right about, but it doesn’t mean this isn’t a really enjoyable watch. The beauty of this 15-minute iMovie cut is its crude nature. Yup, it’s long, it’s raw and features the best of iMovie’s whack tools. But an inspired soundtrack, and the fact Kaimana spent the end of 2013 injured, and filming from Volcom’s upper deck, more than make up. This clip is worth watching for nothing else cept the John John Florence line at Pipe at 11:48. This is certainly a road less travelled.
