As you've probably seen on Instagram, Italo Ferreira recently visited the Maldives.
Having never been there, I was of the belief that the Maldives only offered those high, flimsy type of tubes. But Italo changed my mind abruptly.
Sitting on a Kilimanjaro-sized mound of clips, Italo could have gone any of a thousand directions in distributing them to the world. Rather than taking any of the typical avenues, Italo attempted something we've never seen before: re-enacting an old section from a surf hero.
Andy Irons, Campaign.
We decided to re-make one of my favorite Andy Irons’ videos. I’m not trying to compare my self to him, NEVER, he is my inspiration to get better and better. The movie is called CAMPAIGN, I watch it everyday before my sessions. In Andy’s part, we tried to edit it with the same music and same maneuvers but I’m goofy footer hahaha. I hope you guys like it and also get as inspired as I did. Thanks to all of Andy’s family for letting me do it.
After reading this, we attempted to sync Italo's video with Andy's Campaign part. For all of the obvious reasons, their parts are quite different, but certain string-outs bear a resemblance. If you want to try for yourself, open Andy's part in a separate window here and pull it to one half of your screen, then pull the Italo clip to other half of the screen. Hit play on the Andy video first, and when it reaches the 4 second mark, start the Italo clip.
Enjoy the 15 minutes of torment as you attempt to synchronize them perfectly.
