Snapper isn’t the kind of wave one generally syncs with a dance music soundtrack, but hey, exceptions can be made, especially when the edit features the energy of Filipe Toledo’s calibre. This man was (and still is, depending on recovery time?) looking like sure money for adding to Brazil’s Title trophy collection this year. With airmanship to envy and unexpectedly aggressive rail work, Fil was combo-ing his way down the bank in a form that deserved a yellow jersey (and Corona bath). If only that kinked reverse hadn’t backfired in the semi final with Matt Wilkinson. One thing to take away from this edit is that even the best surfers in the world get faded on the Superbank. Don’t sweat it, do as Filipe does and make something of that foam section your tandem rider created getting to their feet.
