Frederico Morais’ Winter Bloom
Surfing’s Portugese prince certainly scored on his home turf this winter.
There’s a reason the man almost took home Rookie of the Year in 2017.
And judging from the above short, Freddy looks on track to step-up his rank even further this year coming.
Fortunately for Kikas, he’s been lucky enough to wrap himself inside some Portuguese greenery, as well as hooking into a few right hand walls during his winter at home.
The clip is all rights, but they treated him well on the tour last year, where he rang in a 2nd place at arguably the best J-Bay competition ever, a couple of months after earning himself a solid 5th place finish at punchy Bells bowl. Even during his pre-CT days Mr. Morais managed a second place at both the Vans World Cup and the Hawaiian Pro, both powerful right handers.
With the removal of Cloudbreak and the addition of Keramas, Frederico might be in with a shot at cracking the top 10.
This morning, we ponder, could Frederico ever win a World Title?
He may not be the “best surfer in the world”, but with a pinch of ADS determination we wouldn’t put it past him.
In the meantime, enjoy Kikas’ ripest European pickings as you deliberate throwing him into your Snapper fantasy side.
