Did Peter Mel Just Ride The Best Mav’s Wave Ever?

Peter Mel just rode one of the best big waves of all time.
Being that Pete has been surfing Mavericks about as long as anyone, it makes sense that he would be the one to stroke into this behemoth. We have previously described certain waves as being the ‘Chip Shots of All Chip Shots’. Well Pete just took that title by a country fucking mile.
Some rides have the ability to forever etch themselves in the minds of those who witness them. Pete just added his name to a short list of surfers who have ridden such lumps.
Trial, error, and a massive set of male sex organs don’t guarantee even the most dedicated of big wave surfers opportunities such as the above. We couldn’t think of someone more deserving.
