The Coffin Bros Shine In The Rincon Classic (With An Appearance By Dane Reynolds)

North Shore locals get the Backdoor Shootout; Ventura-Santa Barbara locals get the Rincon Classic. 

It’s the one day a year when you can legally tell blow-ins: Get the fuck outta the water, this is our spot!  

And if ever there was a wave in California that you’d want to surf with three guys in the water, it’d probably be Rincon. Especially the inside track. 

“This is the first year they’ve run the Rincon Classic at the Cove!” said the comp’s eventual winner Conner Coffin. 

C-Dog’s excitement was balanced by Dane’s apathy toward competition, which could be seen in his leisurely post-heat stroll up the beach.

Meanwhile, Parker, the younger Coffin, bowed out early due to sickness, but not before bashing the wave of the event in an early round.

Now, question: Conner had several 9-point rides in this comp, as captured in the above video. With Snapper one week away, we can’t help but draw the comparison – what would those nines have been at the Quik Pro?
