Damien Hobgood Returns To Our Mobile Devices

A quick Damo Hobgood story: Flashback to the filming of Strange Rumblings, Greenbush 2013.

You’ll remember the scene.

Damo showed up a day early to scout the swell. The day prior to filming what would later win “Surf Film of the Year” in 2014 at the SURFER Poll, Greenbush was bigger albeit less perfect – Damien paddled out sans filmer.

Over the two days, Mr. Hobgood spent his time throwing himself over any ledge that presented itself, dragging his arms in squares breaking over shallow reef. He was sending himself over the falls, into closeouts. He was a dog chasing a ball across a busy highway. He would bounce off the reef, come up bleeding. Laughing. Paddling back to the lineup shouting, Not today! Not Today!
