Owen Wright’s hands down one the best gents in big, mean, hollow fare. After watching him from the beach during the Pipeline freesurfs, if you were a betting man, he’d be the one to put money on. Unfortunately his sever concussion took him out of the event. He would’ve driven a wrench into the final outcome of the Pipe Masters, that’s for sure. Remember his two perfect heats in mind numbing Cloudbreak last year? The cat’s proper mental. And his sis, Tyler, can ride the beast with the best of them. Here, Louie Hynd seshes the wave at the end of the road with the Wright’s before setting off solo to have a lashing at his very own left, which looks a bit more inviting than the reef sucking monstrosity that is Chopes.
