Catch One Of Ventura’s Top Talents At The Checkout Counter
From clips to fresh produce, Josiah Amico stays baggin’
First off, if you live in Southern California and don’t shop at Trader Joe’s, you’re blowing it.
What you sacrifice in terms of your “favorite” brands you make up for in incredibly low prices (especially for booze) and top of the line customer service. In fact, Trader Joe’s employees are so happy with their jobs, 20% of them work there for 10 years or more.
Enter Josiah Amico. This Venturan surfer has been on our radar for the past five years. Following in the footsteps of the many other CI-inclined regular foots, to make a name for oneself in this area is no easy feat. If Dane and Eithan’s surfing is gristle or ground beef, then Josiah is a fresh Veal steak. Smooth, stylish, and tender.
Josiah is now a full time employee of Trader Joe’s. Given the amount of clips he’s been able to nab with notorious Ventura filmer Jason “Mini” Blanchard whilst still on the job (hence the title ‘Shift Change’), it leads me to believe he would fall under the “extraordinarily happy” category of Trader Joe’s employees.
When asked about his new clip, Josiah said:
“The sessions in the edit were filmed in between work, bouncing back and forth from there to surfing, which is why we called this little short ‘Shift Change’. Like anyone, I’m just trying to make the most of my time in the water. I hope younger surfers know that you can do both, and nor feel like you have to give up on surfing because of a job! It also gives you a greater appreciation for each session, and as I’ve grown into adulthood have definitely been enjoying surfing even more!”
