An Ozzie Wright clip you must see but probably haven’t
Fans of Oz Wright, and those in a particular age bracket or above, will fondly recall the goofyfooter’s work in Seven Days, Seven Slaves. Macaronis, skate-style fish board, and complete freestyle. This video never really scooped the attention it should’ve – Oz is freesurfing royalty and slices like this should be dined upon by all those who celebrate such a lifestyle. And so, we pluck this from the archives (a year is ancient in digital time, yes?)… Jimmy James shot the footage and Ozzie filmed his camera screen on playback, then went home and cut this edit. So like all things Oz does, it’s dripping in the best kinda DIY. Here’s what Dion Agius told Stab about the clip: “A year ago, Ozzie put this edit out called Ozzie Wrong Will Never Die and it was him shredding Macaronis in black and white. I hadn’t been to Macaronis before and after I saw this clip I watched it every single day, and I went to Maccas three times this year. I grew up on Seven Days, Seven Slaves with Ozzie shredding at Maccas. That’s pretty much what I based my whole life on since I was a grom. This clip is totally in the same nature.”
