A Fresh Suit Deal And Sixty Hot Seconds With Coby Perkovich
Adelio initiates Mr Perkovich with a clip to excite the air enthusiast in each and every one of us.
Coby Perkovich has been shuffling the cards of his life.
Not long ago he told Stab he was parting ways with Euro kitesurf, SUP, wakeboard (and sometimes surf) brand, Ion. More recently, being yesterday, he dropped a caption announcing his departure from Lost. Perhaps inspired by the birth of 2019? Or, something more strategic?
Regardless, with all this fresh logo real estate available for the taking, chic suit crafters, Adelio swooped on the opportunity to nestle the Prince of D Bah’s Lover’s Lefts under their wing.
For those unacquainted with Cobes, think tall, dorky and supremely underrated. We’ve already run a background check, so feel free to read Stab’s longform interview, here.
“Yeah, he’s insane at airs and mega consistent and getting clips, which is all a plus, but it wasn’t until we hung out for a couple weeks in NZ last year that I truly saw how beneficial and underrated he was for a brand,” says Adelio main man, Brett Vergou of the signing.
“I’ve never seen someone work as hard as he does at his surfing and be so critical on himself for having a droplet of water out of place or not rotating quick enough.
“It’s more than just another surfer to join a team, but a good friend and now a design partner in a way.
“One of the big things I try to do when selecting who I want on the team is that they all have something more to contribute other than surfing, and so far all the guys tick that box and I couldn’t be more stoked to have Coby join.”
The Percolator joins Adelio’s neat roster alongside the likes of Chippa Wilson, the mulleted core-lord Robbie Rickard, Seth Conboy and more.
Stab’s pleased to see the boy out of his sci-fi suits and into something a little more tasteful.
