A Day At The Beach
The warmth of winter sun and cozy beachbreak barrels in Northern California.
While this California winter’s left much to be desired South of Point Conception, our friends to the north have enjoyed a few stretches of warm weather, clear blue skies, and groomed, unseasonably mellow conditions everywhere from Humboldt to Moss Landing.
Which is to say: crowds of tech barns blowing peaks, bailing boards, lineup yard sales up and down The Beach.
But amidst the negligence and the noobs galore, the locals will always get their pick, as seen in the clip above, which finds NorCal heavies like Matty Lopez, Michael Taras (of California surfing’s royal Taras bloodline), Marty Magnusen, and Lewis Samuels trading cylinders at a sandbank left somewhere north of Santa Cruz.
