Who Combo’d It Better (Update!): Kelly Slater, Kolohe Andino, Jordy Smith, Or Noa Deane?
Since 2014, these four surfers have exited a notable tube and before launching into a gravity-defying ‘oop. The only question that remains is: who did it best?
Three years ago, Stab published its first major tube-to-oop comparison between Kolohe Andino and Jordy Smith.
While there was no official poll conducted, a majority winner was decided. According to Stab commenter Shooter McGavin: It takes a fair bit of sack to hit the end-bowl at north point. Jordy wins by a bees dick.
Then one year later, Kelly Slater threw his crown in the ring with a Backdoor version of surfing’s preeminent combo, forcing us to re-kindle the debate with yet another who-done-it-better post. Despite the King’s best efforts, Jordy’s North Point floater remained the crowd favorite.
And now, after the release of Noa Deane’s sig. film Head Noise, we’re forced to crack this bitch open again and ask our dear commenters: who did the tube-to-oop best?
Several Stab employees have whispered that Noa’s 2018 huck should reign supreme, but frankly it’s too tough to call. So we’re leaving it up to you.
Before you vote, make sure to hyper-jog your memory:
