Watch: Chippa And Co Take To Tassie
A wobbly 10-days of waves with Chippa Wilson, Coby Perkovich, Robbie Rickard, and Andrew Mooney.
Extended forecasts are beautiful; They let us plan a week or so in advance, pick out the best potential spots, and more than anything, imbue us with a sense of pre-emptive stoke. Then reality smacks us on the head. The forecast was a little off, you didn’t pick the right spot, or you forgot to check the winds and it turns out their incessant onshore gusto is the only reason there’s swell in the first place.
In short, skunked is sort of what happened to team Adelio on this trip. Brett, the man behind Adelio lined up a trip with the team — Chippa Wilson, Robbie Rickard, Coby Perkovich, and Andrew Mooney — to test out some product. The forecast for Tasmania, their desired location, looked to be pumping, but a few days out a promising forecast turned for the worse and the boys were treated to 10-days of wobbly, sometimes good, sometimes just surfable waves in the isolated Australian state.
The above clip is a compilation of what went down over those 10 days: surfing, drinking, eating, fucking around, whatever you usually do on a trip.
It’s split up into sections based on the surfers. You’ve got the heavy-footed Robbie Rickard, the Chippa-esque Coby Perk, the actual Chippa Wilson who needs no adjective attributed to his name, and the self-shaper Andrew Mooney.
They might not have scored, but the waves are fun compared to what most of us ride week-to-week. The edit is therefore an enjoyable watch with a few ‘lifestyle’ segments thrown in for good measure.
p.s. Greeny, you realise you’re meant to swipe right on Tinder, don’t you?
