But… Albee comes out with an oop slammer so high that his filmer once again can’t keep his head in the frame. Mr Layer is on a height and full-rotation program that simply must be backed. **** Jay Davies vs Ian GentilStab’s pick: Jay Davies PHWOAR. (Proper) Man turns from Jay here. That cutdown is just… everything. Ian looks solid but we’re gonna say that entering clips of Mex barrels ain’t the best strategy for winning a spot in surfing’s least barrel-based event. **** Cam Richards vs Carlos MunozStab’s pick: Carlos Munoz Yup, we still adore Carlos, and #Cam still doesn’t need our help. **** Ian Crane vs Patrick GudauskasStab’s pick: Patrick Gudauskas Patty sealed this one up with a) the backside combo on his first wave and b) the frontside slob on his second wave. Greasing the latter into an enthused foam climb really didn’t hurt his cause, either. ****
