You knew there was a Prime event a-happening in South Africa now, right? It’s called the Mr Price Pro and it is more worthy of your time than most qualifying events. Perhaps because the field consisted of 13 world tour surfers to begin with, and a bunch of other non-WCT guys who you, and we, really like. One thing that you’ll notice from this gallery is that while everyone’s in rubber, Jules Wilson wears only trunks. Taj Burrow has been known to do the same (New York?) and there’s a good reason: “I wore board shorts because I figured I was going to be doing a lot of paddling out there and it made me feel a lot freer on the waves,” said Jules.
