If yesterday was big and blustery at the Volcom Pipe Pro, today is small but sublime.

Vortexing wedges explode over the cheddar cheese reef, sending spouts of liquid ejaculate across the backs of courageous tube seekers. While Pipe left has spent many a surfer careening into the channel, it’s Backdoor that has the longest, most bulbous pits on offer today, as proven by the number of excellent scores it’s produced.

Kolohe also preaches about a hot trend called “intermittent fasting”, which is of course when humans deprive themselves of food for all but eight hours of the day. According to Kolohe the Coffin bros. are all-in on this fad, earning Conner, formerly of the Fat Boy Surf Camp, a “20-pack” of abs.

“My dad is on that intermittent fasting thing too. He lost 30 pounds – he’s a new person,” Kolohe continued. “He challenged me to a heat yesterday. I was like, ‘What?’. He’s like ‘What, you think I can’t take you?'”
