Jadson Andre eliminated during broadcasted Kelly Slater Freesurf
Big calls aren’t hard to come by when Chopes is pumping for the Billabong Pro, but we’ll still throw our hat in the ring with this: Kelly Slater just surfed one of the most amazing heats ever seen in a world tour event. This is obvious based on the scores alone: 9.00, 9.33, 9.57, 9.20, 9.87, 5.50. But […]
Big calls aren’t hard to come by when Chopes is pumping for the Billabong Pro, but we’ll still throw our hat in the ring with this: Kelly Slater just surfed one of the most amazing heats ever seen in a world tour event. This is obvious based on the scores alone: 9.00, 9.33, 9.57, 9.20, 9.87, 5.50. But what’s on paper is a different thing to IRL given scaling and conditions and all that stuff. What we witnessed was Kelly in the kind of blistering form we haven’t seen since the business round of the 2013 Volcom Fiji Pro. He rode waves completely hands free, he took unfathomable high lines, he put a GoPro in his mouth to shut down the GoPro Challenge, and did it all between pulling off waves to joke with the camera crew in the channel. It was a straight-up freesurf session and everybody, Jadson Andre included, just got to watch. Thanks, ASP.
Think we’re tripping?
“It’s the best I’ve surfed Chopes before,” said Kelly.
