Epohke Is A Rider Owned Label
“It’s Christmas time when we arrive to our workshop in Italy.” – Kai Neville.
Epokhe sun-stoppers switch our attention back to men in yellow shades. Their new summer campaign draws inspiration from iconic motions, time periods and characters as Dion explained to us, “The frames of the 50s and 60s is an era that we draw on for inspiration. There were some beautiful optical frames being produced in the USA and England around that time and we have bit of a collection.”
Film maker Kai Neville, alongside professional surfers Mitch Coleborn and Dion, whom recently announced a move to Hayden Shapes, run at the helm of the youthful eyewear brand they established in 2012. Whilst shooting Kai’s 2010 film ‘Modern Collective’ the trio sparked talks of creating a brand, in which they could involve people that inspire them, most recently adding professional free-surfer Brendon Gibbens to the ambassador list. Epokhe have again tasked friend and now fellow HS rider Creed McTaggart to set their Italian hand-made eyewear brand apart “Creed is very hands on with all design and colourways of his frame. Basically we let him dig through a tonne of acetates” In true Creed stye he opted for a blood-red acetate in his signature Candy style. The brand also exclusively announced their plan to release a new film this November to coincide with the launch of this collection.
Keep an eye out for the full length film coming the later months of this year and check out EPOKHE S217 COLLECTION.
What’s that line again…? This is bat country.
