Do Good, Surf Good: Firewire Giveaway
One of surfboarding’s largest manufacturers throws their support behind First Responders.
Maneuvering in the surf industry ain’t easy these days. Grounded pros, no comps, brick and mortar retail gutted—things have definitely been better. But even under the circumstances, we’re happy to see some brands able to do some good.
After launching their first e-commerce site, Firewire realized that to celebrate during a time while so many are struggling just wouldn’t sit right, but they wondered if they might be able to make some noise stoking out those who have carried so much of this COVID burden the last two months, and thankfully, they’ve come up with the perfect solution:
Firewire is giving away 100 surfboards, to be split between First Responders in Australia and the U.S.
“The first 50 residents of both the United States, and the first 50 residents of Australia, who buy a board online at firewiresurfboards.com will each trigger the gifting of a surfboard to the #ResponderStoke donation pool, up to 50 boards in the U.S., and 50 boards in Australia.
Once a total of 50 boards have been bought in both the U.S. and Australia, we will draw names from our list of #ResponderStoke entrants above, and we will give each of our winners (50 in the U.S. and 50 in Australia) the prize of choosing any surfboard they want from firewiresurfboards.com, sent to their home, with shipping on us.”
If you’re a first responder (first off, thank you!), you can click here and enter your email to be selected.
If you’re not a first responder, what better way to upgrade your quiver than to have a board gifted in your name to those who have given everything of themselves over the last 8 weeks.
With many brands struggling to fulfill new product lines, Firewire has stayed true to their rollout schedule for 2020, most recently celebrating the release of their new model the “Twice Baked,” a short, stubby squash-tail version of the widely regarded “Baked Potato”—so the fact that you can up your grovel game is merely icing on the cake!
