Coca-Cola, Mercedes-Benz, Laird-Hamilton

Laird Hamilton has launched his own apparel brand called, umm, Laird Apparel. The slogan is “Live Life Alive” which is sound advice, and there was some classic PR spiel to go along with the launch of the brand which will be on shelves in October. Expect to see Laird swishing into all good stores soon. “Laird has been building his brand for over forty years as the premier waterman known for his relentless training to prepare himself for the heaviest conditions that nature can produce, so we’ve developed an apparel line that caters to the seasoned waterman looking to be as fit as possible to do the water sports he loves and live life to the fullest.” The product is fitness based and the price range is high-endish. A pair of trunks will set you back $85, a “fitness studio pant” costs $90, and the “unique hybrid pant for after surf or for an early morning paddle that combines the fabrics and closures of a boardshort, but doubles as a casual pant” will be retailing at $120. Laird also has a range of stand-up paddle boards, adventurously named Laird Standup, and looks set to take the world of surf dorks by storm. A morning paddling on your Laird Standup paddle board, with your Laird Standup paddle, in your Laird Apparel trunks, followed by a little yoga in your Laird Apparel “fitness studio pant”… it’s a man of leisure’s dream! This has to be a stunt dog. There’s no way Laird’s a Jack Russel guy.
