Buy A Ticket, Maybe Win A Pyzel And Donate To California Fire Relief
A custom for a good cause.
Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen a lot of surfers respond to the California fires in a lot of inspiring ways: some as firefighters, some as vigilante firefighters, others as rescuers or deliverers of aid supplies.
Shaper Jon Pyzel is now adding a custom board to the list.
While the fires in Malibu garnered the lion’s share of the headlines, it was the Camp fire in Northern California that will tragically go down in the record books as one of the worst-ever. Scorching over 150,000 acres, burning the town of Paradise to the ground and claiming 81 lives with a thousand people still missing, the fire is now over 80 percent contained and rain is finally falling to help the firefighters.
To say it’s been hell on Earth in Butte County is a gross understatement.
Yesterday Stab got an email from Jon Pyzel explaining that he’d decided to offer up a custom board to help raise some funds for those in need. He wanted to get the word out and we were happy to oblige.
“We have set up a raffle of one custom board and all proceeds go to Red Cross to help out with victims of the Camp fire,” said Pyzel.
The raffle is running from now through Dec. 2. So far it has raised over $3,500 for the victims of the fire.
“The winner of the raffle can select a model from our Ghost collection, either custom made for the winner or from our retail stock in time for Christmas. The models in the collection include our best selling board, the Ghost for bigger waves, the Phantom for smaller ones or the Gremlin for mushy days,” said Pyzel.
It’s a noble statement considering how busy the North Shore season can be for Pyzel and his team. But every drop in the proverbial bucket counts and his time and energy will not go unappreciated.
