Yesterday, the waves at the Mr Price Pro, Ballito, were huge, stormy and windy. Jetski-assist at a Prime event? Yikes! Not even New Pier (the go-to spot when everywhere else is outta control) was working. So, with limited options for surfing, a group of competitors in the event opted for a different kinda wave-riding. The man-made kind.
Josh Kerr, Yadin Nicol, Jack Freestone, Kolohe Andino and a few more pals headed to the flowrider in Durban, to really lay test to their balance and show each other their boogie-boarding skills. According to photog Ryan Miller, who shot the photos y’see here, there was a strong US, Hawaiian and Oz contingent in the mix and no one got broken-off too badly (as can be the tendency with flowriders). Overall, Ryan had little other description for the day than “Fucked-up fun.” Sure looks like it, too.
