A Lost x Maurice Cole Joint
Here’s one for the board design enthusiasts. Matt ‘Mayhem’ Biolos, the man behind …Lost Surfboards, just announced a partnership with Maurice Cole. Tom Curren, Kelly Slater and Taj Burrow have all ridden Maurice’s boards to victory in world tour events. His boards also bounce down monstrous faces, steered by Ross Clarke-Jones and former Eddie champ, Noah Johnson. Most famously, Maurice pioneered the Reverse Vee with Curren in the early 90s. Matt asked Maurice to shape him a Metro-3, and after riding it at Lowers, he realised he wanted to collab with Maurice. The venture was hatched between the duo on the way back up the trail following the surf: “Lost will manufacture and distribute a seminal MC range throughout the continental US, including MC’s most influential designs, the classic Reverse Vee (or EEV), as well as his latest and most progressive Metro and Pro-tow superconcave series.” To launch the new project, a reception shall be held, as it should be, at Catalyst Surfshop in San Clemente (1755 N. El Camino Real) on Friday, Feb 22 at 5pm. MC will be there with a bunch of his new and classic designs, as well as some originals from the past.
