Mason Ho Goes Assymetrical!
A sneaky look at Mayhem’s new model, the Maysym, as ridden by his prize Hawaiian show pony!
This morning an email rolled into Stab’s box, from the …Lost boys, and including a note from Mason Ho, regarding the clip you’re hopefully already enjoying above.
While the model’s official roll out was planned for later this month, Mason just couldn’t wait to toss up the silly good four-minute heater, on his Matt Biolos-shaped assymetrical prototype, aptly named the Maysym, and now available in limited runs in a range of both goofy and regular foot models. More on that later, here’s Mason on the new model’s ergonomic feeling.
Rory [Pringle] and I [put out] a MAYSYM segment. Been using two MR trailer fins for my heel side, which is round, then 1 large rear quad MAYHEM fin and 1 medium rear quad MAYHEM on my toe side which has the rocket tail.
Super surprised, but it’s by far one of the best boards I’ve had in a while! Not joking by far. I think more addicting than the [RNF] Retro Fish haha.
When I go right the toe side locks in and the board flies faster than usual. It feels like a four fin squirt, but also a skim feeling because not much fin size. Really fast and loose feeling.
I also thought it was cool because for me it’s harder to do airs when I have too much fins or big fins. So I noticed with the tiny MR fins and the round rail, when I switch to my heel side to click/slide for an air or snap it just whips and totally releases. I’m hooked.
For airs, slides, carves and lip hits it’s so fun it feels fake.
Only bummer is I buckled this today but its not super bad. Dads putting fiber glass on it tomorrow. Gonna run it till death. But I’d love another one if you can.
Also, if you’re down to jump on the bandwagon, you might need a set of these.
