Mick Fanning slices through sashimi at Chopes, Tahiti

Mick Fanning scooped the second highest scoring heat of round one today at the Billabong Pro, Tahiti (Kai Otton scooped the top honour). Mr Fanning clocked a 9.03 and a 9.13, totalling 18.16 against Mitch Coleborn and Alejo Muniz in what we’ll call perfect Teahupoo on a rising swell.
