Mick Fanning makes something out of nothing, Snapper Rocks

This is our reality right now. Feels like forever that we’ve been waiting for a webcast to binge on, and yeah, we got one day of good surfing, but now we’re back to staring at the horizon and weather charts and our feet. The swell has left the party in Queensland and after losing out to rookie Matt Banting in round one of the Quiksilver Pro, Mick Fanning is waiting for competition to start back up so he can face wildcard Dane Reynolds in the first heat of round two. Yesterday morning Mick paddled out and got a couple of waves, one of which saw him open up this slice. Within 10 minutes the event was called off for the day and Mick bailed from the event site, to go hunt waves elsewhere. Today isn’t looking much better than yesterday and, unfortunately for us, the waiting game continues…
