Now, the wave Michel Bourez is breaking apart in this image looks contestable, but pictures sure can be deceiving and the size and consistency just ain’t come to the party yet. “Small surf today and we’ve called a lay day for competition,” said Head Judge Rich Porta. “Swell projections have the biggest system of the window moving into the area in the coming days so we’ll be back early tomorrow morning to make another assessment.”

And, as for when competition does resume, there’s some very stacked heats in round three. The highlight of which has surely gotta be the John John Florence and Sebastian Zietz rematch, the first encounter of which saw Seabass clock 19.37 points, and John put 19.87 into his scoreline. Considering we’re gonna be looking at a more solid Keramas than we’ve seen, that’ll mean barrels, and that means especially good things for Seabass and John. Right?
