Micah Lester Twists Under An Extended Norwegian Sunset
“You get this two-hour-long golden hour as the sun dips.”
“The trip up to these Arctic Islands took us 24 hours,” says lensman Tim Nunn. “A couple of flights from the UK, then a pretty wild three hour ferry ride across a totally open stretch of the North Atlantic. The place is pretty incredible, not many places where there are waves and snow capped mountains so close. My friend Micah Lester, whose originally from Burleigh, but was doing a stint in the UK came up, and we lucked in to a couple of good days of swell. This was late winter, so the days were getting longer, and you get this two hour long golden hour as the sun dips, that’s when there are gaps in the cloud. So I pretty much stood waiting for sun/wave/air to come together for a couple of hours.”
Understandably, Tim’s frame captured our eye as we scrolled the #stabfullframe feed in search of our weekly winner. So much so, we decided to hand him the prize. We’re now into the last week of our photo-based competition in which we’re going to pay for one talented photographer to fly to Hawaii and get schooled by lens veteran Brian Bielmann at his elite workshop.
How does one have a swing at this fine offering? Much like our current monthly #stabfullframe x @oneillusa competition, you’ve gotta dig up your finest frames, post on Instagram tagging #stabfullframe, @oneillusa, @developinglegends and @turtlebayresort then email your full name, address and the link to your post/s (you can enter more than once!) to [email protected]
