Mason Ho, Glass Wedge slingshot, Cabo
Nope, this ain’t Keramas. And while all eyes are focused on the dazzling trance of the Oakley Pro, Bali, it don’t mean waves aren’t pumping on the other side of the Pacific. Just ask Mason Ho. Down Mexico way for the 6-Star Los Cabos Open of Surf, Mason ventured from the contest site with photog Daniel Shea and auteur Joe Alani for a small-day shakeup. The chaps found this pristine, whitewash-assisted wedge for Mason to slingshot himself into, which he did with his usual gusto and panache (note the rested arms, straight front leg and skyward-pointed foot!). This wave is reminiscent of that rock-assisted wedge Mason surfed at Fernando De Noronha in Brazil last year. Fun, sun and wedges? For one? Paradise. – Rupert Partridge
