Luke ‘Louie Chip’ Davis, Trestles, CA
“This was the first real day that felt like fall here,” says Peter Taras of the morn y’see pictured here. “Early offshores, crisp weather, light traffic commutes to the OC…” Sounds nice, doesn’t it? Especially when you score Lower Trestles on a day like that, with a relatively small crowd (by the place’s usual standards). “I met with the boys at Brother(Kolohe Andino)’s house before heading down there,” says Pete. “It was flawless, one of the better days I’ve seen it. As good as it gets. There was only 28 guys out when we arrived, and probably would’ve been less if we hadn’t lagged so hard getting down there.” Luke ‘Louie Chip’ Davis is one The Boys. Kid big-time shreds at Lowers. An awesome turn by a great surfer, even if a little unrevealing: “I know the photo says absolutely nothing about how good the conditions were,” says Pete, “But if nothing else, you can see how nice the light is.”
